NetBrute is a utility for scanning networks for shared resources. As sharing files and printers can be hazardous for the security of your network - since hackers can use this security holes to enter your system - knowing which resources are being shared and by whom is very important. Identifying which resources are being shared will allow you to secure them with either a firewall or safer configuration settings.
NetBrute will allow you to scan a single computer, or every computer in an IP range to detect all its shared resources. You can choose to look for shared disks, printers, NetBIOS names, IPCs, or all of them, setting the port you want to use and the timeout parameter. If you want to scan only your computer, and you do not know its IP address, you can press the “Get IP” button, and NetBrute will find it out for you.
You can also check the security settings on a given website - in the WebBrute tab, you will only need to enter the website’s URL and NetBrute will return such information as the protocol being used, the name of the host, which type of images and applications the site accepts, its language, encoding, its accepted user agents and the type of connection it has.
